Children's Art Week 2020

Children’s Art Week is a UK-wide programme run by Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education.

Over the past months, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted how essential creativity and the visual arts are for learning, connecting and wellbeing. While our venues, cultural organisations and some school buildings may be closed, engaging in the visual arts is more important than ever.

Celebrate at Home

The annual Children’s Art Week will be running from 29th June – 19th July and Nurture Fostering would like to run a competition for all our foster children!

It’s a three part national event and 2020’s themes are…

  • Week 1 (from 29 June): The Natural World
  • Week 2 (from 6 July): Connecting across generations
  • Week 3 (from 13 July): Literacy and creative writing

We are looking for children submit one piece of art for each theme. Each piece of art will need to be submitted before the next theme starts and so the deadlines will be as follows:

  • 5th July – The Natural World
  • 13th July – Connecting across generations
  • 19th July – Literacy and creative writing

This competition will be open for all foster and birth children so everyone can get involved. The winner will win a spot on our website to proudly show off their art plus a £20 gift voucher!

So get your creative hats on and we look forward to seeing everyones fantastic art!
